Finding Connections

Hammock for Two – Solemates is all about that quiet, comfortable kind of connection that doesn't need words. You know the feeling, right? It's two pairs of Converse tucked close together in a hammock, the red ones nestled side by side while the blue pair wraps gently around them, like a soft embrace.
It's such a simple scene, but wow, does it hold a lot of feeling. Green grass below, soft blue sky above, and nothing rushed or forced. Just two people sharing a moment, side by side, in that perfect lazy way.
I absolutely loved painting this one because it tells such a story through body language and, well, shoe language too. There's something about the way we completely relax around someone we trust, how closeness doesn't always have to be dramatic or loud. Those worn-in Converse? They're telling their own story. These have been places, walked miles, and now they've found the perfect spot to rest together.
This painting captures that feeling of being wrapped up in something safe and soft. It's about shared quiet moments, real connection, and how old shoes can suddenly mean something completely new when they're tangled up with someone else's.
There's something so sweet about realizing that some of our very best memories happen when we're doing absolutely nothing at all. Just being there, side by side, in the sun, in a hammock, wearing shoes that feel like home.
