The Sneaker Series: Walking Through Youth One Step at a Time
Share
I didn’t set out to paint a whole bunch of sneakers. But one pair led to another, and suddenly there was a collection. Each painting brought back a moment. A memory. The kind of everyday scene you didn’t realize mattered until years later.
The Sneaker Series is all about those little moments. The summer days when your shoes were worn in just right, your jeans were cuffed, and your plans were loose. It’s about Slushie runs, late-night walks, sailing lessons, and the quiet in-between spaces where real life happened.
Before I became a full-time artist, I spent years as a school principal. I watched people take steps forward every day, students, staff, families, all heading in their own direction. Now I’m still thinking about movement, just in a different way. These paintings capture the feeling of growing up, of being free, of finding your footing in simple, unplanned ways.
Every piece in this series stands on its own, but together they tell a bigger story. One that’s rooted in friendship, self-expression, and the kind of memories that stick around.
The Vintage Shoe Collection

Undone
Red Converse kicked off on the floor after a long walk. That good kind of tired that comes from a day well spent.
Timeless Stride
Those same red Chucks in motion. Moving forward with confidence and a clear head.
Off the Wall – Vans
Checkered Vans on green grass. Lifeguarding shifts, bare ankles, sunburned shoulders, and total relaxation.
Fresh Kicks and Florals
Pink Tretorns next to a daisy. Sailing school mornings, cool breezes, and the soft blur of summer friendships.

Hammock for Two – Solemates
Two pairs of Converse tangled in a hammock. Blue skies, quiet company, and connection that didn’t need words.
Urban Classic
Blue suede Gazelles on a schoolyard. Not for gym class, just for looking cool and being right where you wanted to be.
All Set in White
White Lacoste sneakers catching the light. Saved up for, worn proudly, and perfect for whatever the day brought.
This collection is my little love letter to my past. A reminder that the best stories often start with a good pair of shoes and nowhere in particular to be. Thanks for taking a stroll through it with me.
